Representation
Representation of information as it is stored is the key to recovering experiences at a later time. There are a number of important representation factors that impact our brain's effectiveness in recalling information including:
| - images | - association | - order |
| - sensuality | - humor | - positive images |
| - movement | - number | |
| - visual imagery | - symbolism | |
| - imagination | - color |
Images
Sir Joshua Reynolds once said, "Invention strictly speaking, is little more than a new combination of those images which have been previously gathered and deposited in the memory; nothing can come from nothing." Images are our mind's inner painting and expression of information regarding our experiences or fantasies. Using the visual pattern analyzers and face processing machinery of the brain, we use these inner paintings to associate numerous parts of our mind's network and recall minute details of past experiences.
Sensuality
Experiencing images requires the sense of sight. We as humans have numerous senses. Our senses and our sensuality are important to memory because they color our perceptions revealing unusual connections between objects. Sensuality is the desire for pleasures in all areas related to any form of human experience regarding the senses without any restriction.
